How ironic that Asians possess such little space between their eye lids and is home to a nearsighted disease. I'm so sorry if it is insensitive but it's funny, to me at least.

As a visually impaired person myself The Myopia Boom was a very informative documentary. Throughout this entire documentary the camera shots and angles favored close ups, medium close ups, zoom and minimal of the wider shots. Laugh out loud, It stood out to me I'm sorry. If it wasn't intentional well ok but if it was, damn you Christophe Kilian. The use of tracking the elements such as a doctor and the patients gave the viewer a first hand experience of their individual experiences. The fact that it was actually shot on location in China and in other places that are affected by the disease gave us further insight of the impact the disease has on people directly. "Insight" laugh out loud. The cinematography took us on a visual journey through the process of disease, beginning to end. The 3D animations of the eyes with the voiceovers had me feeling like a surgeon at one point. After watching I wondered, maybe I have myopia. Without proper diagnostic the world may never know but what the world must know is this..."You may not be able to make film your life but there is a lot about life in film".
